Yvonne Smith, Assistant to the Pastor

I am originally from the state of Indiana. I am married to Gary Smith and we have 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws and 2 granddaughters. I graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Supervision (from the School of Technology) in 1986.

My husband and I moved to Fargo in 2000 and joined First United Methodist Church in 2001. I began working as a part time secretary in the church office in 2002 and where I have the wonderful opportunity of working with Clarice, who makes coming to work such a pleasure. In May 2004 I became the Executive Assistant to Senior Pastor Rich Zeck, who is a joy to work for.

My duties include answering the telephone, greeting people in the office, scheduling appointments for Rich, updating the Prayer Card, filing and organizing Rich’s office. Basically keeping track of Rich is my biggest challenge.

I love to sing and participate in the Sanctuary Choir. I enjoy ballroom dancing (with my husband!), reading, working on stain glass projects and spending time with my family and friends.
